Care instructions

Machine wash cold (30°C) on a gentle cycle or hand wash with mild detergent; wash separately for the first two washes. Do not bleach; line dry flat or hang to dry in shade to protect the print. Iron on medium heat (cotton setting) on the reverse side while slightly damp; avoid high-temperature steam directly on the print. Store folded away from direct sunlight to prevent gradual fading.

Washing and shrinkage

Cold gentle machine wash or hand wash; expect approximately 3–5% shrinkage on the first wash if not pre-washed — prewash before cutting and sewing to allow for this change.

Hand-block printed in small artisan workshops in India, this cloth carries a quietly modern geometry rendered with age-old techniques. Local craftswomen and print-block artists hand-apply natural earth pigments onto ecru cotton, so each square shows the gentle rhythm and tiny irregularities that mark a handmade piece. The design’s small-scale repeat and muted, earthy palette make it a versatile artisan textile with a well-travelled, lived-in character.

Colour notes

The print reads as a warm, earthy brown with a slightly muted, greenish undertone on an ecru ground — a ‘muddied’ or toffee-like brown rather than a bright copper. Because the colour comes from natural pigments and the block-print process there are subtle tonal variations and soft edges that deepen in warm indoor light and read a touch cooler in bright daylight.
